Once upon a year, as Langston was running around having meetings and phone calls and Alyson was packing a few boxes, the scorching hot Missouri day found the ladies taking their time to make hand drawn "birthday cards."

Asaria with help from Amira created a card with the Sesame Street Puppet Elmo drawn inside.
Ayana created a card that showed the frantic excitement of intense line art put to paper in repeated patterns
Aaliyah took to a more defined approach where her use to letter forms decorated the card with various roman letter ornaments with a wall of circle creatures telling a sequential story.
Amira, being the big sister that she is took to creating a card that enfolded much like an origami, where each opening show cased a new photo.

When Daddy got home today, he was surprised to the thunderous sounds screaming "DAAAAA-DDEEEE!!!" then jumped on by his little Ladies.

Daddy was pleased with the drawings and like in the past, will archive the art into a time where he can scan it to share with others.

Daddy soon released that while the Ladies know nothing of Father's Day, they give him much much more: the pleasures of being a father. To him, that's all of the recognition that he'll ever need.

The Ladies are finally off to bed as their father sneaks off into the guess bedroom to wrap his head around writing for several publications related to his work.

In the afternoon yesterday at our home, after Asaria, Ayana, Aaliyah and Amira had their fill of marking the yard and sidewalk with their chalk, Alyson and I decided to weigh them on our scale. We were noticing how the two younger Ladies were much thicker than the two elder sisters. In weighing them, the numbers surprised us:

Amira Senayet	41 lbs.
Aaliyah Saada	31 lbs.
Ayana Sara'i	40 lbs.
Asaria Sumehra Sekhmet	33 lbs.

Asaria is actually closer in weight to Aaliyah and Ayana is closer in weight than Amira. Thinking about it, The younger sisters have legs, arms and torsos that are quite thick. While Amira has been growing taller and muscles in her legs are enlarging, she's still relatively thin. Aaliyah is built like Amira, on the thin side but was actually a thicker child until 2 year old.

The funny thing about this is the fact that the girls all eat the same diet. As anyone who knows us, Langston being called a healthy diet fanatic is too nice a word in how we try to take care of ourselves. We eat live foods, minimally processed goods and organic produce. While Asaria generally out eats anyone in sight, the foods are balanced and not known to add weight in eaten in larger amounts. Additionally, Ayana is very finicky about her food and doesn't eat any more than Amira or Aaliyah. Clearly, something more is happening.

Over the weekend, the family took time to visit the farmers market and saw a new park for the Ladies to visit. The park was one of the better one's we've visited in terms of not being too crowded and it's proximity to the house.

Grand Parents East Coast Visits the Family

The Grandparents Eastcoast has come from Washington DC area to pay us a visit. They will be here for the Aaliyah Sadda 5th Annual Birthday Celebration. As per usual, Grandpa Richardson comes into the door with excitement and bombastic energy. Grandma Richardson was just as excited to see ~~the Daughters of Destiny.~~

Alyson and I showed them our new home and they saw clearly that it was better than the first home we moved from.

This article speaks about the primary reason that we do not commercialize the lives of our children. It's hard and messages are everywhere even when you don't have cable or send your children to school where advertisers grab every little bit of space that they compete with. Yesterday with our family going to the store to get things for Aaliyah's birthday, my children who have watched a fraction of a percent of the hours that most children have watched their ages all know who Sponge Bob, Sesame Street, Dora, and the Backyardigans are. But to see in stores like Target, The Party Store, and even stores like WholeFoods.... marketing to children to pressure parents is insane.

All the more important to take the Ladies out to cultural and community events that have nothing to do with commercialism.

awwww.... it was 11:40 pm and little Asaria finally fell asleep.

Off camera though, kicked to the corner on the floor as he's been since 2002, was Daddy lying down, worn out on the floor exausted asleep two hours earlier.

Look who gets on the table, climbing chairs and saying "ta-da!" in a very high pitched tone once they've gotten there.

Shortly afterwards, you find her parents wisk her down to the floor before she crashes down in an accident.

Our children are indeed unique. This little lady can nearly hold a conversation, walks like a pro, wakes up every night to climb into bed with Mommy, whether she is in her bed and comes to ours.. or whether she is sleeping in our bed and finds us in the guess bedroom.

My 43rd year on earth is winding down, the Ladies are all over the house, having eaten a wonderful Daddy birthday meal prepared by Momma Alyson. Havinng worked on twitter related projects for my job, I realized the power of being able to quickly tell a tale of the happenings of the family. There are 35 things that happen for every couple of entries on The Daughters of Destiny blog. We've added it to the side bar of this site and will be incorporating this into a wider rework of the site as we launch the remainder of the Movie site in a few months.

As some of our long time friends would know, the name Sistas Supreme came from a friend I had from 15 years ago who had daughters she playfully called the Supremes, after the singing group of the 1960's. A little later after I met Alyson, started our family and she was pregnant with Aaliyah Saada, I began to rethink this kind of pet name for the Ladies. The Daughters of Destiny evolved from Daughter of the World which was what I called Amira Senayet as the only child. I still needed a less than regal name to call them which still spoke to their preciousness in a less serious way. Thus was born "The Sistas Supreme."
